Bio

  Michael Roll is a composer, sound designer, and trumpet player based in New Jersey. As a composer, he writes works for musical theater, incidental music, large ensembles, chamber ensembles, and more. He has had works premiered by groups such as Balance Campaign, The Concordia College Symphonic Band, and others. Michael has written music for plays put on by places such as The Catholic University of America Theater Department and The Concordia College Theater Department.

  As a sound designer, Michael has worked on both plays and musicals. He has worked on shows at venues such as Wildwood Summer Theater (Silver Spring, MD), New York Theater Festival (New York, NY), the Gallery Players (Brooklyn, NY).

  As a trumpet player, Michael has played in a variety of ensembles and venues, including concert bands, jazz bands, pit orchestras, solo church gigs, and more. He has also taught private lessons for dozens of students on trumpet, trombone, and french horn. Michael has a B.M. in Composition from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN), and an M.M. in Composition, with a stage music emphasis, from CUA the Catholic University of America.
